The Mortimer Memorial Plaque

Purpose:
To remember those Beardies who have passed on to Rainbow Bridge, while at the same time achieving donations for Beardie Rescue. The Program Administrator manages the Mortimer Memorial Program.

Process:

  1. The owner or friend of the deceased dog will send a donation payable to the BCCC Rescue in the amount of at least $30.00 to the Program Administrator with the following information about the dog: registered name of the Beardie, call name and date of birth and death.
  2. The Program Administrator will have the plate engraved (registered name, call name and dates)
  3. The Program Administrator will send a remembrance/memorial card and the plate to the owner of the dog and a remembrance thank you card to the person sending the donation (if needed).
  4. The donation cheque will be sent to the BCCC Rescue Fund.
  5. The Mortimer Memorial plates will be displayed on the BCCC website in remembrance of the beardies.

'We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan."

Irving Townsend
