Mortimer Memorial Program

The Bearded Collie Club of Canada
Mortimer Memorial Program

The Mortimer Memorial Plaque

Purpose:
To remember those Beardies who have passed on to Rainbow Bridge, while at the same time achieving donations for Beardie Rescue. The Program Administrator manages the Mortimer Memorial Program.

Process:

  1. The owner or friend of the deceased dog will send a donation payable to the BCCC Rescue in the amount of at least $30.00 to the Program Administrator with the following information about the dog: registered name of the Beardie, call name and date of birth and death.
  2. The Program Administrator will send a remembrance/memorial card to the owner of the dog or the person sending the donation (both if needed).
  3. The donation cheque will be sent to the BCCC Rescue Fund.
  4. The plaque will be displayed each year at the National Specialty, in honour of all our beloved Beardies who have gone before us.

'We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan."

Irving Townsend
